West Trenton-Union Pacific Republican National Convention train
Nice classic
Yo I was there too, UAB got shit on 😂
0:45 Metro north cab car 5136
CP=Canadian Pacific.
Ok, this is nuts to find archives of a street run in Erie so recent! Great work!
It’s crazy to see intermodals going down street-running trackage. There’s a few sections of street running around where I live but they’re only used by locals and coal trains. Intermodals must have been quite the sight!
Hmm there were occasions back then when trains on the Hoboken Division had the engine on the east end. From what I witnessed, they don’t do that anymore other than on a few Meadowlands trains. Also, note that most of the trains in this video were powered by GP40FH-2 locomotives.
What was the story on 5136 looking all confused...
If you wanna see 261, cut to 5:40.
Didn’t know there was a point in time that they didn’t really care about which direction the engines were facing on the Hoboken Division.
12:26 I see Mark 1 Video with his camera
Hey I would like to talk with ya about a project I am doing with the Chicago Line send me a email davidmcdougall97@gmail.com!
Earie had doomed this. By selling off the rite away to now what is now rt 80 and 19
I wish it was the 90s
Same I miss this era so much
Too bad the ex cnw ge’s had their k5h’s taken off
I saw this on June 11, 1998 during a Frasier rerun on The WB
Nope. No trains north of englewood since around 2008. You really want those overhead power lines through town? For a train that won't even take you directly to nyc. You can barely drive through tenafly during rush hour as it is, and you want the proposed 60+ trains a day going through? Thank god it didn't happen.
I was four years old and my dad must have been standing right next to you as you were shooting this. This I believe was the last or close to the last time 12 was put away.
Lol, that background music ^^,
Cool!
3:07 let's wait until the train gets real close then run across the track even though we've known it's coming for the last two hours. I don't know of anything that would give an engineer more heartburn than that. love the 614 though. was in waldwick when it came wailing by, experience of a lifetime. like thunder and earthquake all at same time.
teenagers
@12:23 guy with striped shirt slips on rock, falls on track, ruins everyone's day. Can't believe they let people stand that close.
When I went to West Bergen last Tuesday I saw NJT the rush hour use wasn't too bad at all but I did see Norfolk southerns off peak weekend services
Man... I wish I could've seen Ridgewood like this, before they fucked it up with the high-level platforms...
I imagine that must have been quite cold when the fast-moving trains zipped by and blew snow at you. Love this and all of your classic train videos.
AWESOME
Nice! On the first clip, the third Conrail unit seemed to be smoking heavily with black smoke. Do you know why?
Awesome!
What chime of whistle does 614 use?
Caltrain912 Reading 6 chime
1998
Pennsylvania what I read on their website that they have a preserve the rails project that they will give a grant of $2,000 to the owners who wants to rebuild the tracks on the abandoned line but they can't go over a certain amount of money and for the Lackawanna Cut off that seems like a crap ton of money to have the line go all the way to the Delaware Water Gap.
This must've been during the short lived revival of the franchise.
Very, very cool! You may have one of the only videos on UA-cam of 614 with the N&W hooter.
Anybody else catch that the total video length is 643 and know the significance of that?
+kleetus92 Yeah! I just noticed that!
Lol rap had an Afro
I miss these older trains that used to be around. Hate progress and the new trains NJT has now.
Some of those trailers look a little loose. I hope they didn't fall off and land on something or someone during their trip.
AWESOME! I think I saw that while my late grandfather and I were out watching trains that day. *sad sigh* I just wish that I had a camera at the time. Oh, well.
2:02 Supposed to be doing 10 through there...Dont look like 10
Wow, these EMD locomotive are working their power on with a great lash up with a GE C40-8 in the lead. Almost 14 years ago but although in the story, today's still have awesome EMDs. Love your classic video
I miss the SD 90Macs!! The GE ac6000cws,,,,,,,
I discoveed the sound problem was at my end. Great video. Is it possible to redo this and add some locations indicating where the events are taking palce? I recognize Steamtown and some of the Scranton spots but where are the 2 Alco's RS's working and posing?
I love it! Its nice to see some Conrail action from Ridgefield Park instead of just CSX.
Great video!
Excellent catches!!!
Holy shit I live right next to that exact Balbi station literally 2 minutes I ride past there all the time
0:51 is that a penn central grain car??
I remember those days.
Someday hopefully it will come back as a commuter line. I rode the Phoebe Snow thru there when I was a kid. I live about five miles from Roseville Rd
where's the rail. i thought the snail freight was still running up there.
nice catch of that comet 1A set dude.
